So, upon testing this wonderful software I managed to crash it multiple times (the demo alone behaves quite badly with some sound adapters…) The problem is, you can’t use it after you setup the wrong device / wrong latency, it just opens and crashes with no way of resetting to factory whatsoever. So I made a small tool, two in fact. To deal with this problem.

The first one is called “Guitar Rig 3 – All Fix“, it’s intended to fix audio device issues (startup crash, etc) – It allows the user to reset the audio devices or to disable audio processing so the application can start up without crashing.

The second tool is labeled “Guitar Rig 3 – Reset” and it’s main purpose in life is to reset the sound banks to factory (which is a mundane operation, all the program does is rename the actual directory so the real application can create and populate the new one)

Both tools were developed due to the fact that most musicians are not very Windows savvy if you catch my drift!, naw seriously who wants to launch regedit in the middle of a rehersal or recording session just because the developers of the software couldn’t be bothered to write a few hundreth extra lines of code? – It’s bs. But I don’t mind, I’m just testing it out for the time being and I thought this had to exist, it should be illegal that it doesn’t didn’t exist to begin with!

I’m providing them as freeware, and of course I’m not responsible for anything that happens to your system. But then again, rest assured this are safe tools and contain no malware whatsoever. I just had to mention this, you gotta know what you’re getting and theres nothing worse than malware in my opinion, it’s the lowest of the lowest in software development. Only the most socially repressed and disturbed beings are capable of creating such useless crap. If you have the tools, use them to create not to destroy, period.

Anyway, it’ll come in handy for someone I’m sure.

PS: Tested on XP only. I’m aware that the crashes may only occur on low-end adaptors, but I’m sure they’ll fix this eventually. Some hobbist musician may want to use his built-in laptop soundcard for his sporadic jamming, it’s a possibility and the software shouldn’t crash like this. Specially if it’s a demo. But yeah, it’s a crime to use any of their software without a proper card.
