Finally, migrated to a Linux host. Much needed, specially due to the flexibility gained over a *nix system.
Too bad, however, that most hosting companies are not prepared for migration tasks, ie. they make you migrate everything by yourself. That’s ok, on some cases, although, when they take 48 hours to process the administrative side and another 24hs for the technical side… It gets a little annoying, indeed.
But the bitter taste always comes from the support… In the sense that, even though you’re a paying customer (and not just a “user” as they state) they don’t seem to care much whether you stay with them or not, whether you require a migration or not, they simply do not care about those things, they always seem to follow some sort of pdf / paper where they have a few rules of engagement and that’s it, once they find themselves out of those boundaries they become raging monkeys ready to attack if only, they wouldn’t lose their job by doing so. So that’s when they start to throw the ball against each other, ultimately wasting your time and probably your customer’s time as well.
That can’t be good!
So that said, next time I’ll just pay an extra buck or two and get a better service where at least they respect their customers. Who, ultimately, feed them. And you know what they say; never bite the hand that feeds you.
